Teacher Workshop Training
Fund the mission: Our teacher workshops include ROV-building with simple circuits and switches, soldering of electrical component parts and circuit boards, assembly of electrical tether and propulsion systems, plus frame building and test piloting. Participants take home a built remotely operated vehicle (ROV) kit to help prepare student teams for our MATE ROV Competition. Teachers can also participate in Rivers to Reefs workshops for immersive learning about watersheds, pollution, water quality monitoring, and exploration of coastal species and habitats.
Gray's Reef Ocean Discovery Center
Fund the Mission: Grand opening of the Gray’s Reef Ocean Discovery Center in early 2023! Visiting our ocean discovery center is an excellent way to learn more about the natural and cultural treasures protected in your sanctuary. Explore hands-on exhibits, attend an educational and engaging program, peruse the gift store and investigate the science and history of Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary. Our Save Spectacular Celebration offers multiple levels of sponsorship to support this mission. Join us as a sponsor and help bring this destination location to life!
MATE ROV Competition
Fund the Mission: Our Gray’s Reef Southeast MATE ROV Competition engages regional students from 3rd grade to college in building submersible robots for underwater mission operations. We work to educate youth and communities on how to build a sustainable future through environmental education and conservation initiatives, challenging students to learn and creatively apply science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to solving real-world problems in a way that strengthens critical thinking, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
