Women and Whales Panel Discussion
On December 12th 2024 we hosted the Women and Whales panel, as part of Georgia Whale Week at the Ocean Discovery Center. We were honored to have a panel of impressive scientists who have dedicated their careers to saving the whales! A well-loved tradition of Georgia Whale Week, this panel featured Dr. Tara Cox of Savannah State University, Kim Sawicki of Sustainable Seas Technology, Cheryl Munday of Low Country Marine Mammal Network and founder of the Right Whale Festival, and Amadi Afua Sefar-Twerefour of SEOE, USC, and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. It truly was an event full of inspiring women and open discussion centered around the endangered North Atlantic Right Whale and us!
